I must say one of the most ENLIGHTENING conversations I've seen thus far. Except for the remark, an unwarranted salvo (but it's his show) is disingenuous - people always complain about change (from petrol driven vehicles to EVs) - like the guest says new techs always have issues. It's debatable about extraction - all metals/minerals have to be extracted. Etc, etc. Anyway it's debatable whether EVs are a scam - just like millions believe the Climate Emergency is one and also that the earth is flat. I'm a 66yo retired secondary school teacher (bio/chem/maths - non-government educational institutions).

Malaysian has from the start, education has gone the wrong way. Either you use Bahasa Malays in all school and have mother tongue as their second language, then the people will all be able to understand each other and there is no divisiveness in them. Look at Singapore, LKY has instilled English as the operational language and mother tongue as the second language. He abolishes Chinese school and have all English school. Today, after 60 years of independent, everyone understands each other. Singaporean is more united today is because Lee Kuan Yew has treated all race the same. Malaysia has gone the Malays Malaysian priority way (Bumiputra policy). It is impossible to change, so why do you still want this conversation? why talk about assimilation? Impossible!!! Please wake up! Fui K Soong talks about division in Singapore. Yes, i agree there are division, but the division is much smaller than Malaysia and most other countries. You want proof? sure, take the recent Presidential Election, the majority of the ethnic Chinese votes for an Indian Singaporean. Can Malaysia copy our system, to vote for the best person for the position? Not in a 100 years' time. Malaysia will never be like Singapore, that is why Singapore was kicked out of Malaysia. Singapore national pledge is: We, the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion, to build a democratic society, based on justice and equality, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation. Malaysia national political pledge: We, the citizens of Malaysia, pledge ourselves as Malay people, privileges for the Malays only, for Bahasa Malay and Islam only, to build a democratic society, based on justice and equal rights for Malays, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our Malay people. The Chinese Malaysian is the minority and will not be able to move the politics in Malaysia. Please get real. The Malays will always be the majority in Malaysia for the next 100 years. Sarawak and Sabah should be independent about 10 years ago... The people are slow in their thinking. I don't know what Sarawakian is thinking about.

Let me tell you guys that neither PRC nor even ROC will protect us, as 1997 Indonesian Racial Riot has shown, and way before that when Dengist opening occurs Deng also said that Overseas Chinese matters are under the sovereignty of the nations they hold citizenship for. Plus, let's introduce everyone to Fred Chin Him San, former Malaysian now ROCian. He was a political prisoner in Taiwan for 12 years due to Chiang's White Terror Campaign and suspicion of his involvement in a TV station bombing in Tainan, while still being a Malaysian, as an undergrad back then. ROC's Bloodline law (血統法) basically also applied to you as an ethnic Chinese back then, even if you're natively born overseas. Check out his book in English named Facing the Calamity, or his Chinese book, 《謊言世界,我的真相》 For as long as China doesn't go through the democratic process as South Korea or Taiwan, I will never have anything to do with them.

Malays are not racist, not at all. We're anti people who are not muslim, but Islam teaches to not hate other religions. No matter your race even if you don't speak malay if you're muslim we will embrace them with open arm. This is why we have the love hate relationship and it doesn't help that the west control cultures and perceptions and still recovering from islamophobia. Because Malaysia is a muslim majority and the non muslim holds significant wealth in the country we developed the us vs them mindset and vice versa. What's happening with the non muslim here is what happened with the white people and the J3w5. Even nowadays in the US even with they're staunchly in support of !sr@3| there's still racists remarks against the j3w5 by their own politicians. It's how people are wired but hopefully we will heal with education and time.

Hey, the sea level has been rising for the past 3 million years. Penang island used to be part of the mainland. Part of Sundaland. Well, that's all underwater now. As your guest pointed out - with our without humans, sea levels will continue to rise. Turning off all our air-cons, water heaters, cars, trains and planes might buy us some time but sea levels will continue to rise like it has been doing for the past 3 million years. So we have to plan - the tiny island nations like Tuvalu, Kiribati, Maldives will be the first to disappear, and we are all witness to what is unfolding. Singapore and The Netherlands have been preparing for years. Even Indonesia is moving its capital away from a sinking Jakarta. So humans - put your best brains to work. Start the mass migration master plan now. The answer is not more EVs! It never was.

What the protaganist of global warming failed to know (because of censorship) was that all the islands named , tuvalu, kiribati & maldives had their coastline INCREASED. The islands are growing bigger instead of being submerged. Indonesian government moved their capital from jakarta because jakarta was SINKING and not because sea level was rising. Sea level had increased at such a miniscule amount & THERE HAD NOT BEEN ANY ACCELERATION of sea-level increase at all.

Rural smallholders' communities in Sarawak and Sabah are taking small steps to engaged in ecosystem restoration to comply with MSPO 2530-2022 Standard, Principle No.5 on Ecosystem Services. Sarawak government is advocating the planting of bamboo to sequester GHG and at the same time creating microclimate and recharging ground water. The high cost of synthetic chemical inputs has driven marginalized smallholders to transition into ecosystem services, which a good step into Net Zero. Science based compliance methodologies and framework are also being established by private sectors from the palm oil industries to achieve long term initiatives to recarbonize agriculture soils. There is hope but our value systems in Malaysia need to change into a new paradigm shift, which foster ecosystem functions and not suppliers' interest.

47:00 finally somebody said it, sarawak is not as "harmonious" as people thought it would be, it's just the same as the rest of Malaysia except the Islamic parties have lesser influence there that's all, when it comes to race relations it's still similar to Johor, Selangor, Pahang or any other parts of Malaysia. "sarawak harmony" is just a facade made by their politicians so that they could divert the attention of local Sarawakians of their internal problems by playing "us versus them" all the time.

Haven't listen to the interview but the science behind climate change just seems really flimsy & dodgy considering how we have all experienced Covid-19 lockdown fiasco to see how scientist themselves can also be a victim of mob mentality due to the way information & institution are structured in this modern world. Anyone with opposite voice can be suppress heavily, and we are to go against the science and common sense we learn in school, thus turning science this domain itself into an unscientific doctrine where one simply have to believe. Coming back to climate change, if anything it can be made made seeing how we can already control the weather in someway beginning with rain seeding or detonating a bomb undersea. If you watch the latest interview of Google Ex-ceo Eric Schmidt talking about AI, you will understand how climate change can be man-made or weaponize because at it stand, the AI machinery they have built require so much power that they don't have enough of it and was hoping Canada can help them power this "black box" of AI. Just think about the cooling it needs....I am sure the water uses to cool it would at least contribute greatly to global warming.

I remember reading , during the riots of Sukano to Surhato era in Indonesia, China, in their impovished state after the civil war, not too long ago, did send old ships to rescue the Chinese being "g", n dropped them on Hainan island. Those were long ago yrs., n China is different now, but, l think, for economic interest, China will, if they can, look out for their interest. Thank you, for this Interview.

I am chinese + orang asli. My face look like malay. Every one thought i am malay because my name is like malay and since i dont know speaking chinese. I mostly speak bahasa asli at home and bahasa melayu and english outside home. My parents are christian but i become muslim after i further my study. For me malaysian are the mix of everything. Eventhough people call me malay muslim, i always remember that i am mix of multi racial, culture and religious. This is the unique of malaysia.

Why would China do that? Ethnic Chinese in Malaysia are Malaysian born and they aren't Chinese citizens. The Malaysian Chinese can take care of themselves.
